kiln openning

Check out the photos of what came out of the cone 5 kiln firing.

I always like to choose new glazes. The combinations are endless and I like that. The large green bowl has a new design. half circles in each side, together make a whole. I wanted to incorporate lines but it did not work. The plate with half circles is to compliment the bowl. Next time I will make plate larger. Plus I did not like the plate mold, style or size.I do like the glaze combination.
Presenting food on the right plate and color can make all the difference. What colors do you like to serve and eat food on??
I tested glazes that I have. There is a new one called copper patina. However, you can only use it on sculpture or anything outdoors. Check out the pig. A great attitude.

I like to eat on neutral colors such as white, sand, tan, beige, copper, bronze, tin, pewter.

what if you did a take on metals- a spin off on traditional table wear.... think about it could be interesting.

great job on the blog!

The carport.... yes This is where I create, make and fire all the pottery. It consists of a worktable, slabroller, kiln, drying and storage cabinet. The seasons dictate when I can work. Timing is everything. Spring and Fall is the best time to work outside. Summer months it is to hot and then the clay melts. In the winter the clay can freeze, plus when you work with cold clay your fingers become icickles.
